Lockdown Los Angeles
Impacted by corona virus, LA was forced into citywide lockdowns and social distancing measures. Observe these iconic locations from the air, recorded on an Inspire 2 drone and from a helicopter during the peak of the early 2020 March + April covid19 lockdowns in Los Angeles, California which forced all non-essential businesses to close. Showcasing aerial footage from Los Angeles under Governor enforced Quarantine and coronavirus social distancing lockdowns, this video features LA's most iconic locations, nearly empty and devoid of human interaction. This short film highlights empty streets, abandoned premiere landmarks, vacant shopping districts, an uninhabited amusement park, Dodger Stadium's grounded fleet of LAX's Rental Cars, The world-famous Venice Skatepark filled in with Sand, and other bizarre citywide observations during LA's covid19 safety measures.
Locations include Griffith Observatory, Dodger Stadium's, Downtown Los Angeles, City Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Getty, Hollywood Bowl, Rodeo Drive Shopping District, Sunset Boulevard's Sunset Plaza, Universal Studios, US Bank Tower, Wilshire Grand, Venice Beach, Venice Skatepark, Santa Monica Strand, Santa Monica Pier, and Manhattan Beach. PEUGEOT DRONE FILM FESTIVAL
The Peugeot Drone Film Festival is Europe’s largest Drone Film Festival. Hosted in iconic Frankfurt, the 2021 event was massive, featuring talented filmmakers from, and cinematic locations, such as: Los Angeles, Italy, France, Germany, Chicago, Sweden, Switzerland, Iceland, and Ecuador. The event would not be possible without the sponsoring partners Peugeot, Skydio, Jumeirah, and FOCUS. This Behind the Scenes video shows a glimpse of our time attending the event.
Every two years the festival searches for the 10 best drone films for this competition. A jury of the eight best German actors and filmmakers awards the prize for the top film, and all films are also presented on Germany's largest online news site Focus.de. There, 23.4 million unique visitors vote for the audience award. The 10 best filmmakers of the films are then invited to the Jumeirah in Frankfurt, where the festival is held and the winner is crowned.
This year Framework Films was invited by Skydio to attend the Peugeot Drone Film Festival. Our Framework Film “Lockdown Los Angeles” was selected as one of the 10 best drone films in the world, was entered into the competition, and presented to a jury of German actors and directors as well as the audience of Germany’s largest news publication FOCUS. Join us as we attend the Peugeot Drone Film Festival and meet the other top 10 finalists. As part of the festival, the invited filmmakers toured Frankfurt, test drove Peugeot’s finest EV vehicles, experienced a 4-course meal at the Jumeirah 5 Star Hotel, and networked among the other honored festival guests.
