Origin | Yosemite National Park, CA | Timelapse 4K
This 4K time lapse footage primarily highlights El Capitan's Horsetail Falls during the park's unique "Firefall" event; a natural phenomenon that attracts a global audience in mid-February. Horsetail Falls is only visible when snowmelt from the top of El Capitan runs off the cliff face, meaning that this natural event is extremely rare to lineup the angle of the sun with the seasonally elusive waterfall.
Stars Over the Old Mill: Sony a7riii + Milky Way
Night photography has its allure, as well as its challenges. There is something restorative about spending a quiet evening in the mountains or desert under the stars. Likewise, capturing light trails on a busy city street can be energizing and cause the creative juices to flow. A proposed night shoot at the Motor Transport Museum in Campo, California really piqued my interest, as it combined a bit of both worlds. Over two-hundred old cars, trucks, and buses are there—some over a century old—scattered haphazardly on the grounds of an abandoned feldspar mill. The shoot was also to be a fond farewell to this year’s Milky Way season.
The Yosemite Firefall at Horesetail Falls
Yosemite’s Fire Fall is a natural phenomena that only happens in late February when the light from the sunset hits the water from Horsetail Falls just right to make it appear that the water is on fire (pending other perfect conditions).

Superbloom at Lake Elsinore - Poppy Apocalypse
A Superbloom sprouted in Southern California’s Lake Elsinore around March 8th and lasted for about 2 weeks. While it is common that these regions experience a dusting of wildflowers every spring, years can pass without seeing these spectacular Superblooms. The last two Superblooms SoCal experienced happened in Spring 2017 and Spring 2008.
